My (nick)name is vandango. Knowledge about the “Lucas Arts” game “Grim Fandango” (I love this game …) helps you to know who im mean. I’m a 25 year old software developer from the harbour and own-state city Bremen in the beautifull country Germany. My girlfriend, to pedal my speed-bike (bicycle), programming and gaming are the four basic things in my live.
This time i live with my truelove girlfriend Stefanie in Bremen / Germany. She’s a very beautifull girl and work as a nurse in a hospital.
This weblog is a private site for me, a logbook about the development of my cms toendaCMS and my other projects and a logbook about the live and experience of me as a software developer in Bremen (BexTown) / Germany.
I hear in my headphones some cool rock music like The White Stripes, Tenacious D, The Strocks or the Foo Fighters and good and relaxed electronical like Portishead, Massive Attack, Naomi, Modorama or Moby.
And i look some good movies from my DVD collection or in the cinema like Fight Club, Memento, Solaris, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Matrix Trilogy, The Ring Trilogy, Ju-on: The Grudge, Sin City, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol.1 and Vol.2, King Arthur and all other Quentin Tarantino Movies. But this is a incomplete list. It exists so many other good movies that i can’t called them all here.

Technical Summary
I am a hacker (remember: not a cracker!) A hacker is a programmer. I have become my skills mostly with self-learning, with work for my customers, work for some companys and about a profesional training as IT-specialist for software development. Most of my knowledge is learning-by-doing include study some books at my little home-office in days, weeks, months and years of long nights.
It’s not very interresting that i can so good in this language and so good in this one. The right way is to say, i can coding. Not more and not less. But for all people who don’t understand this sentence, here is a list of my lerned languages: C / C++ / C#, Java, PHP, Python, a little bit Ruby, shell scripting, XML, XHTML / HTML / CSS, Basic / Visual Basic, ASP, etc. Is that enough?
The next importent thing in the whole it business is the database knowledge. The only thing i can say: i can use, design and implement database systems. For all called people, here is the list: MySQL, XML for DB, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Microsoft Access.
But all of this programming languages and/or database systems can not without a base. And the base is the operating system. But what can i say? Some operating systems are very usefull, some operating system are very bad. But all can be used in a similar way. And here is the known list: Unix, Linux, BSD, Windows 3x, 9x - Vista, MacOS (X).
Between all that is a way to the enlightenment the knowledge to use some librarys and programs. And here is the list: The Gimp (it’s a graphic program), Photoshop, OpenGL, DirectX, .NET, Mono and something more.
And also i have knowledge of SVN subversion, CVS and git concepts.
“Things i have done”
I have worked on some various things, here is a list of all my projects:
From Februrary 2008 until January 2009 (ca.) i’m working on a big project where i wrote a ASP.NET webclient portal. It’s linked to a WCF services which stores it’s data on a MS SQL Server 2005 database server. The service loads it’s data from some SAP systems and replicates the storage between the MS SQL Server and the SAP systems. Thereby we make the application about 100 percent faster as the SAP application on the same database.
Also in December 2007 i have written a ETL-Interface for OLAP-Databases. It’s a plugin-based application which has plugins for many different OLAP-Databases like MIS Alea (Infor PM Olap Server), Microsoft OLAP, Palo, Cognos, Business Objects and other systems.
In December 2007 i have started a new application (Compareos). It’s a WindowsForms application (using massive elements from CRM, ERP and PMS systems) and it’s using MS SQL Server 2005 to store it’s data.
In 2007 i have written a software for a paying automate using .NET 2.0. The software is using a framework (also written by me) as base and it’s developed very close to the hardware (using serial streams etc.). It’s mostly written in C#. The automate software is used on the german northsea island Langeoog.
In the last months of 2006 i have written a web photo management service software called Zappr based on ASP.NET 2.0 and C#. It’s supporting some AJAX features.
In May 2006 i have started developing a job search engine called JobLight in association with a company called mediamouse.
In January 2006 i have started a game engine project called Dystopie. It’s a dynamic game engine and i’m working on a browsergame (Dystopie Online) using this engine.
I have started in 2006 a small project called MonoPad and it is a simple C# editor written in C# and mono.
In 2005 i have written a cash software for acoustician and optician (LePOS) with a MS SQL Server 2000 and Visual Basic.
2005 was the year of Enlightenment. Between the german translation and some patching the code i have created three kewl themes for E17. japan2007 (formaly japan2005 and japan2006), the clean and the slate theme. Furthermore i have written a small installer script.
My small cms project toendaCMS has grown up in 2005 to a big project with it’s own community, a forum, a wiki and such a stuff.
Since february 2005 i’m a presenter (moderator) of the greatest linux forum in germany (www.linuxforen.de).
I have started in 2003 a 3D game engine project called wuerxEngine - most of the work is done in late 2005 with a friend (Gereon Frey).
Toenda Software Development is the company i have founded in October 2003 with a friend. After 6 months he left the company and i lead it until today.
